Pivot, Perspective & BHN
It’s almost Memorial Day Weekend 2020, most of us are in some type of either forced or self-quarantined environment, mask or no mask genre. We are halfway through Q2, and time seems to be equally flying and standing still. Two words have become more relevant lately: Pivot & Perspective. Perhaps they help people relate and respond to what’s going on around us.
Allow me to give some perspective to what I see in the business arena. As many of you know, I am also a Fix This Next Advisor, helping business owners do a deep dive on their hierarchy of needs. Like Maslow’s 5-tier heirarchy of human fulfillment and growth (physiological, safety, love/belonging, esteem, and self-actualization), the Fix This Next: Business Hierarchy of Needs (BHN) utilizes its own five-tier model (SPOIL) that are grouped into Give and Get categories:

BHN: Get to Give
Like Maslow’s pyramid, the BHN levels necessitate that you master each tier so you’re not bouncing around the pyramid. Each tier builds on the others in it’s category, and you must complete the Get portion before moving on to the Give. Click to learn more about Business Hierarchy of Needs or click here to take your an evaluation to see where you are on the BHN pyramid. I would be happy to discuss the results with you.
Pivot is the other word I see or hear multiple times per day. However, here’s some perspective: we entrepreneurs often need to pivot after testing, measuring and evaluating. This is a “universal truth for every business”. But please don’t pivot just because it’s “the thing” to do or you’re bored. Better to get Perspective by intentionally procrastinating, it’s a sign of self-awareness. Observe, think and pivot if necessary.
“What are you currently pushing that you should be observing?”
